Composite element based on coffee waste from the coffee industry

Natural, renewable resources are not the only materials one can use for the manufacture of products. It is also possible to fall back on resources that already have a history.

It is the mission of ecobrain AG, BASF SE and Dekodur International to use furniture and wall and ceiling cladding made from used coffee grounds for CO2 storage and to recycle them after use.  Ecobrain has developed a new, recyclable raw material based on coffee grounds and a brilliant binding agent from BASF SE that serves as a substitute for wood and can be used for the manufacture of furniture and wall and ceiling cladding.  We, Dekodur International, give this new, recyclable raw material a perfect, formaldehyde-free HPL surface with unique properties and structures.
The result: an eco-friendly composite element for shop fitting and interior design applications in the coffee industry.
Gone are the days when trees had to be felled in order to cater for the interior design needs of the coffee industry.
